Configure video encoding and multichannel monitoring in the web interface. Follow the operating sequence from device access and ULL transmission to display layouts, events and physical interfaces.

Connect and sign in

Connect the video input, display output and network according to your installation. Open the device web address from a computer on the same network and sign in with your assigned web account.

  1. Check device power and network connectivity.
  2. Open the device HTTPS address in your browser.
  3. Sign in and check network and time settings under System settings.
  4. Configure the encoder and receiving channels under Camera management, then check video in ULL monitoring.

Check the first connection

  1. Check the video input, connected display and network cable. Identify which device sends video and which device receives it.
  2. Open the installed device address supplied by your installer. Use the device address, not the product information page on the company website.
  3. Sign in with your assigned web account. If settings are unavailable, check account permissions and the device connection.
  4. Under Camera management, TX configures transmission from this device; CAM numbers identify receiving channels. Connect and verify one channel before adding the others.
  5. Check both single and split views. If conference audio is required, configure MIX/P2P and mute after verifying video.

Configure the encoder

Open Settings in the TX encoder row under Camera management. ULL is the primary transmission profile. Enable RTSP and Waversa streams individually when needed; disabling a stream retains its settings. Browser video uses the regular RTSP stream, so disabling RTSP also stops browser video from that encoder.

Choose profiles and values

Choose profiles and values
FieldHow to choose
PortUse the transmission port reported by the device. If you change it, update the receiving devices accordingly. Do not substitute another product’s default port.
ULLThe primary transmission profile has no disable switch in this form. Configure it for the receiving device’s ULL connection.
RTSP → EnableEnable this for browser video or standard RTSP receivers. Turning it off can interrupt browsers and receivers using this encoder’s RTSP stream.
Waversa → EnableEnable it when a receiver uses this standard stream. This is separate from choosing Waversa ULL as a receiving channel source.
ResolutionChoose from the supported resolutions shown for that profile. A disabled “Saved settings” entry is not a currently selectable resolution.
BitrateEnter an integer in kbps. Check the permitted 256–50,000 range together with the network conditions at the installation.
Total encoding usageAccounts for the resolution and frame rate of enabled profiles. Reduce resolution or disable unneeded optional profiles to resolve an over-capacity warning. Lowering bitrate alone does not reduce this calculation.

Save and verify transmission

  1. In Camera management, select Settings in the TX encoder row. Check saved values and profile status first.
  2. Choose the required profiles and enter resolution and bitrate. Disabled optional profiles keep their values while their fields are unavailable.
  3. Check total encoding usage and any error message. If Save is unavailable, check capacity, supported resolutions, input limits and account permissions.
  4. Select Save once and wait for the completion message. Cancel closes the dialog without applying unsaved changes in this form.
  5. Reopen TX settings. Compare the saved fields with the “Current: resolution · fps · kbps · status” line under each profile.
  6. Verify video at the receiving device and in the browser separately. A successful save does not mean every profile is already transmitting.

Interpret encoder status

Interpret encoder status
StatusMeaning and next action
RunningThe device reports an active profile. Check its current values and the receiving view together.
Bitrate apply pending / Enable setting apply pendingThe saved change is waiting for runtime application. Watch the status refresh rather than repeatedly saving the same values.
Apply on restart / Restart requiredSaved and current values may differ until the required restart. Schedule that restart around operations, then recheck the status.
Additional instance pending / StartingThe profile has not yet been confirmed as transmitting. Check the required stream without assuming other profiles have also failed.
Waiting for framesCheck the video input and transmitting device connection, then observe both the status and receiver picture.
Disabled / Disabled (saved)The optional profile is off. Enable and save it only if that stream is required.
Disabled by device runtime settingsDistinguish the saved setting from runtime configuration. If a required profile remains disabled, provide the displayed details to your installer.
Error / Stopped / Runtime unavailableCheck connectivity and the reported error first. Record the status and current values rather than repeatedly saving or disabling other working profiles.

Discover ONVIF and select single/split streams

  1. Open the target CAM settings in Camera management and select ONVIF.
  2. Select Search, review the address, name and model information, then choose the device. Enter the camera address manually if discovery finds nothing.
  3. Enter the camera username and password. When keeping an existing connection account, follow the form’s instruction for leaving stored credentials unchanged.
  4. Choose the single-view and split-view streams separately. Consider Main (original) for detail in one view and Sub (small view) for multiple small views, but select streams the camera actually provides.
  5. Check Channel enable and select Save. Wait through “Applying to device…” and confirm the save message.
  6. Check the CAM in both single and split views. If only one view fails, check whether its selected main/sub stream is available.

Discover or manually register Waversa ULL

  1. Select Waversa ULL in the target CAM settings.
  2. Choose a discovered device to fill its address and port. If it is not found, select Manual entry and enter the camera address.
  3. Enter the actual service port of the target. WNDR CODEC normally uses 9409; verify the actual port for other ULL devices.
  4. Enter the device account and select Save. Check the connection information and video reception in the camera list.
  5. Verify a single ULL view, then switch to a split view. If the connection summary says “Multi: standard stream not configured”, check the transmitter’s standard ONVIF/RTSP configuration.

Enter RTSP directly and resolve registration errors

  1. Select RTSP and enter the complete stream address supplied by the video device.
  2. Enter its username and password when required. Do not place an actual credential-bearing URL in public documentation or shared captures.
  3. “Single-view main stream URL (test, optional)” is an optional field for checking a separate main stream. It is not mandatory for basic registration.
  4. Select Save, wait for the completion message, then verify video. If registration reports an error, check the URL path, credentials and transmitting device before trying again.

Review events and connect actions

Verify an event before connecting its output

Follow Event history → event time/channel → Event map. Distinguish the recorded event source from the physical output you intend to trigger.

  1. Check that event times and channels match the installation. Verify the system time zone first if timestamps are unexpected.
  2. Select the source and then its intended output in Event map. Check that the connection is shown.
  3. Selecting the same connection removes it. Check each connection when multiple sources share one output.
  4. During a planned test, generate the field input and check both the event record and the actual output device.

Serial ports and alarm interfaces

Match communication parameters and contact types to the installed peripherals under Input/output settings. Available ports and outputs depend on the hardware configuration.

Serial ports and alarm interfaces
InterfaceSetting
RS-485 / RS-232Match communication speed and parameters to the peripheral
Alarm input NOAlarm when a normally open contact closes
Alarm input NCAlarm when a normally closed contact opens
Alarm outputChoose Normal Open or Normal Close for the connected equipment

Verify operation after configuring a port

  1. Find the physically connected RS-485 or RS-232 port in Input/output settings. Do not assume a port is usable when it is unassigned, marked as an unavailable console port, or absent.
  2. Choose Enable and the connected device type. Match baud rate, data bits, parity and stop bits to the peripheral. Where an RS-485 address is required, match the address configured on that peripheral.
  3. Choose NO/NC according to the input contact’s normal state. For outputs, check the contact behavior and hold time required by the connected equipment.
  4. After saving, check port and input status. Saved settings do not establish physical operation when a driver or wiring is not ready.
  5. Check the Event map output connection and complete a planned field test.

Account, network and time

Manage the web account, IP address, DNS, NTP and time zone in System settings. An address change can disconnect the current web session; keep the new address available.

Set DHCP or a static address and reconnect

  1. Open System settings → Network settings. Check the current address mode and connection address.
  2. Choose DHCP when the installation assigns addresses automatically, or Static IP when a fixed address is required. Enter the address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS assigned by the installer.
  3. Before saving, confirm the new address and how to reconnect. Saving network settings changes the actual device address.
  4. Select Save. A direct static-address connection may navigate to the new address. If DHCP assigns a different address, obtain it from the device screen or the installation’s network management information.
  5. If connected through an external portal, reconnect from that portal. Check the changed address before interpreting a lost connection as a failed save.

Confirm account and time changes

Confirm account and time changes
ItemEntry and completion check
Change username/passwordEnter the current password and new sign-in details, then match the password confirmation. Use the new account if the change requires signing in again.
Time zoneSelect the installation’s time zone. The selection saves immediately; check both the device clock and displayed event times.
NTPCheck the configured time server and synchronization status. A failed status query does not confirm clock synchronization.
RTC managementWhere RTC is available, compare device/RTC time and battery status. “Save device time to RTC” writes the clock; it is not a read-only query.
P2P registration and managementUse organization and registration details supplied by the installer. Check issued connection information and service state, and keep the PIN and access URL out of public material.

Display quality and monitoring information

System settings provides device-supported bandwidth, utilization and latency displays. Check the runtime state and application result when changing them.

Display quality and monitoring information
OptionWhat to check
Bandwidth / Utilization / LatencyInformation about transmission and output behavior
Immediate DisplayImmediate presentation in a single ULL view; moving video may show boundaries, so verify with the actual scene
Runtime unavailableCheck device connectivity before assuming a setting has applied

Verify display options after changing them

  1. Select Crop or Whole picture (LetterBox) under System settings → Video display. The selection saves immediately; verify the result on registered video.
  2. Enable the required Bandwidth / Utilization / Latency items in monitoring information. These change device display settings, so check the corresponding windows on the physical monitor.
  3. Use Immediate Display only when available. If it is disabled, check administrator permissions, device display readiness and current availability.
  4. If application reports an error, do not infer success from the switch position alone. Restore connectivity, refresh status and compare the setting with the actual device display.

Update firmware

Check, install and reconnect

  1. As an administrator, open System settings → Firmware update. Check the current version and update scope.
  2. Select Check for updates. “Up to date” means no new version is currently available for installation.
  3. When a new version is available, read its version and notes, choose an appropriate time and select Install. Review the screen/web reconnection confirmation before proceeding.
  4. Watch Downloading → Verifying signature → Installing and any progress information. Do not send the same installation request repeatedly.
  5. Reconnect at the device address after the screen and web service restart. Check the version and result, then verify single ULL video, split views and conference audio as used in the installation.
